HENRY — The Henry-Senachwine National Honor Society high school students wrote 70 letters to patients and residents at Heartland Health Care Center of Henry for them to be handed out in time for Easter weekend. Some of these letters included hand-made bracelets, cards, photos and some even included addresses in case the recipient wanted to write the student back.
Brady Neuhalfen, who is a member of the HSHS NHS, approached Heartland that the NHS students would like to do something to brighten the day for people staying with them at Heartland. The students had come up with a plan to write letters to everyone at the facility.
A few days later, Brady delivered the 70 handwritten letters. These letters lifted spirits and came at a perfect time. Normally Easter is a big family time with lots of visitors from near and far and there is quite a festive atmosphere. These letters created such a happy and positive buzz that could be felt through the entire facility.
