A second resident of Marshall County has tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19), according to a news release issued by public health officials Wednesday.
The individual was screened and tested by an area hospital. Public health officials were notified of a positive test, according to state and local public health protocol. The individual is a female in her 80s.
Public health officials are in the beginning stages of the investigation and are working to identify individuals who were in contact with the case. Federal privacy restrictions prohibit the release of any additional information regarding this case. No further information regarding the investigation is available at this time.
This is the second confirmed case of COVID-19 in Marshall County and the eighth in counties served by the Bureau, Putnam and Marshall County Health Departments.
The first case was reported in Marshall County on March 23. The other six cases are in Bureau County, having been reported between March 27 and April 13.
