PRINCETON — Barbara Kay (Carroll) Pantenburg of Princeton passed away Friday, Nov. 15, 2019, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, surrounded by loved ones.
Barbara was born on May 13, 1943, in Princeton to the late Edmond and Codie (Olson) Carroll. She was raised in Princeton, and later moved to Ladd, where she was well known as a Girl Scout leader and neighborhood babysitter.
Barbara later moved to Granville, and worked as a certified nursing assistant at St. Margaret’s Hospital, and retired from the Illinois Veterans Home of LaSalle.
Barbara was compassionate and always had a smile. Her outward beauty was so greatly enhanced by her beautiful spirit. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
Barbara is survived by her two daughters, Laura Moyle of Princeton and Brenda (Mario) Morrell of Bloomington; four grandchildren, Adam (Chrissy Guisti) Trillet, Raysha (Zach Schmidt) McQuilkin, Hilary Moyle and Ben Moyle; eight great-grandchildren, Allison, Julie, Addison, Isabela, Jaxson, Azalea, Leonidas and Olivia; and one sister, JoAnn (David) Carlson of East Alton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edmond and Cody Carroll; and a brother, Dennis Carroll.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton. Services will follow at noon with Pastor Laura Root-Tanner officiating. Graveside services will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Princeton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s.
