GRANVILLE — Robert Lee Stanard, 78, of Granville died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019, at his residence.
Robert was born Feb. 25, 1941, in Mendota to Ralph and Agatha Stanard. He married Drusilla McDaniels on Dec. 31, 1979, in Peoria. She passed away on Aug. 20, 2017.
Robert attended Barber College and served in the U.S. Navy. He worked at the Hennepin Steel Plant, where he was a millwright for 37 years.
Robert was a former member of the United Steel Workers Union in Hennepin. He enjoyed watching high school and college sports, and enjoyed his animals. Fishing in Minnesota was a big part of his life.
Survivors include his son, Erick (Julie) Knickerbocker of Princeton; his mother-in-law, Bernadine Nolan of Peoria; a brother, Randy Stanard of Nevada; three sisters, including Rosie Wallace and Carol James of Walnut; and five grandchildren, Christian, Brandon, Jacob, Isaac and Joseph.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Drusilla; and one son John, in 1982.
There will be a private gathering at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be in the LaMoille Cemetery in LaMoille with military honors.
