HENRY — Celebrate the 232nd year of the signing of the Constitution of the United States of America with the “Ringing of the Bells” in conjunction with “Bells Across America,” which marks the beginning of Constitution Week, Sept. 17-23. The Constitution of the United States of America was signed on Sept. 17, 1787.
Local churches, courthouses, veteran homes, city governments, city and county employees, 4-H clubs, Boy and Girl Scouts, and other clubs such as Rotary and Mason members, individuals, schools, police stations and firehouses will join other villages, towns and cities across the USA by ringing their bells simultaneously from coast to coast for two minutes commemorating the signing of the Constitution.
Individuals who would like to take part in the observation but do not own bells can use the bell ringer on their cellphone.
Everyone is invited to join Chief Senachwine Chapter NSDAR in the celebration by ringing bells at 3 p.m. on Sept. 17.
