Max and Carol Hood of Minonk will celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at a later date.
Max Hood, formally of Folsom, W.Va., and Carol Capponi McCullar of Minonk were married April 12, 1984, in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Minonk by Pastor Donald Kumpf.
They are parents of Julie (Mark) McNamara of Minonk, Kellie Glick of Farmerville, Matt (Loanna) Hood of Blue Springs, Mo., Shane (Amanda Brennecke) Hood of Christal City, Mo., Cole Hood of Brenham, Texas, Adam (Jessica Baldwin) Hood of Minonk and an AFS, foreign exchange daughter, Laura Luche from Sassari, Sardinia, Italy. They also have 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Max worked for the El Paso-Gridley School District driving a school bus for 18 years, retiring in 2002, and drove a semi-truck for Meierhofer Farming and Trucking, retiring in 2018. Carol taught school for the Putnam County School District for four years and for the Minonk-Dana-Rutland, Fieldcrest School District for 31 years, retiring in 2002. Carol and Max have also owned and operated the East Side Dog Grooming Shop in Minonk for 39 years.
