PERU — The Illinois Valley Cadet Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol, based at the Illinois Valley Regional Airport in Peru, is seeking new cadets.
The Civil Air Patrol is a federally supported non-profit corporation serving as the official civilian auxiliary of the United States Air Force. It's a volunteer organization for people of all backgrounds, lifestyles and occupations who have an interest in aviation.
It performs three congressionally assigned key missions: emergency services, which include search and rescue by air and ground; disaster relief; and aerospace education for youths and the general public, particularly through their cadet programs for teenagers.
