PRINCETON — The University of Illinois Extension — Bureau, LaSalle, Marshall, Putnam Unit and the Bureau County Farm Bureau will host an Agricultural Energy Program at 7 p.m. Monday, March 4, at the Bureau County Extension Office, 850 Thompson St. in Princeton.
The focus of the program is introducing wind and solar energy into a rural environment.
Topics of discussion will be types of solar farms and applications; types of wind turbines and applications; overview of the renewable energy projects for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; economic benefits; legal aspects and landowner rights.
The presenters for the evening will be Jay Solomon, University of Illinois Extension Energy and Environmental Stewardship educator; Garrett Thalgott, an attorney with the Illinois Farm Bureau; Mohamed Attalla, executive director of Facilities & Services, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; Keith Bolin, project developer, Geronimo Energy; and Andy Seay, Solarize Outreach coordinator, StraightUp Solar.
