GRANVILLE — Luella M. Capitani, 92, of Granville passed away on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, at her residence with her loving family by her side.
Luella was born on March 5, 1926, in Spring Valley to William and Ethel (Bush) Glass. She married Franklin Hiden in 1949. He passed away in 1963. In 1974, she married Edward “Eddie” Capitani.
She graduated from Hall High School and continued her education, graduating from LPO Junior College and Browns Business School. In 1946, Luella was employed as a clerk processor for the U.S. Department of the Navy in Washington, D.C. Later, she worked at the Ben Franklin department store and Thompson Drug Store in Spring Valley, and Copy All Service in Peru, and was a homemaker.
Luella was a member of the United Church of Christ of Spring Valley, serving as a church organist and choir member, and she was a lifetime member of Order of the Eastern Star. She served as an assistant den leader for the Cub Scouts. She also enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening and going dancing with Eddie.
Survivors include her husband, Eddie Capitani of Granville; one daughter, Kathy Miroux of Spring Valley; Mike Miroux of Moline; two sons, Frank (Kathy) Hiden of Elk Plain, Wash., and Norm (Cindy) Capitani of San Antonio, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, and one brother, Bill Glass.
Services will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at Dysart-Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville. The Rev. Dr. Ron McNeill will officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be at a later date.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at Dysart-Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the United Church of Christ in Spring Valley or the United Church of Christ in Granville.
