OSWEGO — Carol A. Bachio, 80, wife of the late George Bachio, formerly of Hennepin, died the afternoon of Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at Symphony at The Tillers in Oswego.
Born Nov. 27, 1937, in Hooven, Ohio, to William Woodrow and Margie (Atkins) McKnight, she married George Bachio July 8, 1961, in Moline. He preceded her in death on Aug. 19, 2006.
She graduated from Illinois State University. She was a teacher in the Putnam County School District and DePue Unit Schools for several years. She was also a member of St. George Orthodox Church in Spring Valley.
Survivors include her children, Anne (Ralph) Townsend of Streamwood, Mike (Christie) Bachio of Sugar Grove and John Bachio of Oswego; her grandchildren, Jacob and Emma Bachio, and Chris Townsend; her brother, NealMcKnight; her sister, Beth Austin; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Carol was also preceded in death by herbrother, Woody McKnight, and her sister, Cindy McKnight.
Funeral services will begin at noon Friday, Nov. 9, at the Barto Funeral Home in Spring Valley with Father Andrew Kishler of St. George Orthodox Church officiating. Burial will follow at the DePue Serbian Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the services, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol’s memory can be made to the St. George Orthodox Church in Spring Valley.
