Habitat for Humanity in LaSalle, Bureau and Putnam counties received a donation of 2,613 pounds of stainless steel nails from longtime Habitat supporter Maze Nails.
The Habitat affiliate was notified of this contribution recently by Roelif M. Loveland, president of Maze Nails, one of the divisions of W.H. Maze Co. in Peru.
"We are extremely grateful and proud to recognize donors like Maze Nails," Dan Fitzgerald, Habitat board president, said.
"As a longtime supporter and community business, Maze Nails understands and shares in the mission of Habitat. This donation will go towards continuing with home builds and repairs in LaSalle, Bureau and Putnam counties," Fitzgerald said.
Habitat’s mission is to help individuals and families in the community who are struggling due to a lack of affordable housing. Donations of materials and money, as well as volunteer labor, are used to continue with the mission of building homes in partnership with hardworking, low-income families and individuals.
