GRANVILLE — Erma G. Costello, 88, of Granville passed away on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, in LaSalle.
Born July 15, 1930, to John and Bertha (Cox) Cherry, she married Frank R. Costello in 1967.
She graduated from Hall High School. She was an assembler in the wristwatch department at Westclox and a homemaker.
She was a member of Eastern Star, the Granville American Legion Auxiliary and the United Church of Christ in Spring Valley.
Survivors include one son, Art Shipp of Spring Valley; two daughters, Carol (Shipp) Hill of Granville and Valerie (Shipp) Bruce of Raleigh, N.C.; one sister, Alice (Cherry) Lamagno of Florida; five grandchildren, Shannon Hogan of LaSalle, Christy DeGroot of Spring Valley, Sarah Kester of Rochester, Minn., Jeffery Bruce of Syracuse, N.Y., and Melanie Bruce of Raleigh, N.C.; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2002; one sister, Bernice Taylor; and two brothers, Lester Wallin and John Cherry.
A Celebration of Life will be at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at Servant’s Heart Fellowship, at 1119 Eighth St., LaSalle, with Pastor Michael and Robin Shaver officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be prior to the service, from 3 to 5 p.m., at Servant’s Heart Fellowship.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
