GRANVILLE — Putnam County Rotarians and Interact members enjoyed a picnic and special guest at Hopkins Park in Granville on Aug. 23. Introduced by PC Rotary President Brandy Sandberg, Rotary District Governor Kathy Kwiat-Hess of Rockford addressed the Rotary Board, and later all participants, to share the opportunities to participate in club, community and global service projects.

Kwiat-Hess also shared Rotary International’s vision for growth in youth and young adult membership and service with this year’s theme, “Be The Inspiration!”

Members of the high school and junior high school Interact Clubs, both sponsored by Rotary, spoke impressively about their own clubs’ past projects and service goals for the coming year. It was welcome to see that Rotary’s future is in good hands.

PCHS Interact’s first project will be a Red Cross blood drive on Friday, Sept. 14, at the high school, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Appointments and walk-ins are welcome.
